Shellblast HD Finished

I should really post more often…

Lots has been done since the last post made and Shellblast HD is now at the point of completion. All that is left is for David to give it the a-ok and the promotional material to be made and it can be submitted to the Xbox Indie Games service. The estimated date for submission is Thursday 29th July and the game should be up on the service shortly after, retailing for 400 MS Points (roughly translates into $5).

Here are some screens, just because this blog post would look visually unappealing without some.

  2. Awesome! It looks really fine, great job. It’s such a pity I don’t have an Xbox. D:

Don’t worry, not everyone is without a 360. I’ll be buying this.

One thing I noticed: in screenie #3, all the Xbox buttons (X, Y, A, B) are represented by little pictures of themselves, while in screenie #1, the Y button is represented at the top of the screen by just the letter Y. Is it just easier to use text there?

    Meant to ask…

How many different tile sets did you come up with? Obviously those aren’t the same tiles we saw earlier..Is the original version going to be available?

  7. Optum says:

    @ UltimateAgent:

Six tilesets in the end and the original (as created by David) is in the game. Maybe they will be showed off in the trailer, even I don’t know what is going to be in it.

    @ joe_042293:

I never really took much notice of that but it is a good point. That part of the game was programmed very early on, before I had access to the button sprites and I never thought to go back and change it.

Looks excellent! It improves quite a bit on the original ShellBlast, which I’ll post about in a later blog. (Or is that blog about in a later post? Gah, I don’t know anymore).
