Spirits of Metropolis…is complete. Here’s what’s happening next.

After about a year and a half in development, Spirits is finally done, and nearly ready for final beta testing.

I need to do a final sweep for bugs, which should take a full day or so of work, and then it’s time to test it once more. Beta testers should expect the final Spirits beta to go live in the private forums on November 26th (this Wednesday). Woo!

Once it’s out for testing, I’m going to be building the first official trailer and the website for Spirits. I’ll also be shopping around the beta to two publishers that I’m really interested in. I’m not sure how long that will take, but it shouldn’t be long at all. The thing is, I cannot release the game until I know the status of these two publishers in relation to the game (that is, if I get more benefits by releasing exclusively with them for a brief period of time). So the earliest the game will be available for sell is late next week.

Thanks everyone for being very patient with me through all this…it’s been one heck of a development period. I know in the end, it will all be worth it. 🙂

    Yay!

    Next: ONR3/KOAC?

    PLEASE?

  2. Awesome, Awesome work and yeah, it certainly has been worth it if you ask me.

Still shooting to make the competition game, Chubs?

  3. Pete says:

    *cough* November 23rd isn’t a Wednesday.

  4. joe_042293 says:

Yeah, you did that thing again where the date and day contradict each other. >_>

I’ll assume you mean Wednesday, because today is the 23rd.

  5. chubigans says:

    Whoops, the 26th. That’s what I meant. :p

  6. Dale_Fan3 says:

My original plans aren’t going to work as Spirits has taken up my time, but I do want to make a game for the competition.

I have been coming here nearly daily for the past few months, hoping for news of The Sandbox of God 2. I loved The Sandbox of God and spent a long time on it, and I rate it personally as one of the greatest GM games I have played, up there with Jumper 2 and Stick Online. I would like to know if you plan to resume work on it now.

  9. chubigans says:

Sandbox of God 2 has been in limbo for a while now. It’s definitely a title I will do in 2009, but I can confirm that it will not be a title that I can get to within the next three months due to the amount of art involved.
I know that’s news you don’t want to hear, but I want to be honest with you guys whenever possible.

  10. Ravenheart says:

Is one of the publishers Valve Corporation?

  11. chubigans says:

I’m going after Greenhouse first, then Steam. 🙂

chobs try some casual game web sites like
    http://www.shockwave.com or http://www.pogo.com
oh pogo is based on EA (electronic arts) i am not sure if they accept your game or not. but i think you can publish your game in their downloadable games.
you should post a trial for download and they will manage payments for full version.
    😀

  13. I would love love love to see you on Steam. Steamworks Developer API FTW.

  14. ashkan_gc says:

hey can you describe more about steamworks
i think you should use their API and then they allow you to publish your game in their web site.
    can you tell us more?
