Updates! January Edition

Woo!

-A new version of the Sandbox of God will go out tomorrow, fixing problems with the music that Vista users were having. Make sure to keep up with all the updates by visiting the Updates/News page in the Sandbox of God game. Owners of The Sandbox of God: Remastered who are having problems with the lack of music, please contact me to get your update. Note that this update is not necessary for non-Vista users.

-Kablooey! will get updated to remove the splash screen at the end of the game to vote for us, however I won’t be porting it to GM8 as I originally planned, mainly because it’s not worth going through beta testing everything again for a minor new feature (in-game web browsing). I’m still evaluating Spirits of Metropolis for a GM8 port, however that’s not looking likely for a while because I want to get the Oil Blue done by the end of next month.

-I just played Bioshock for the PS3 for the first time. It was ok till the middle, which was kinda mind blowing, and the good ending was incredibly touching. I had some man tears going on there. ;_;

-The Oil Blue will start to get updates next week on the blog. Woo!

-By the way, the Sandbox of God 1.5 did not go through beta testing mainly because I thought everything would come out fine. The game was beta tested when it originally came out, so I figured this update would be bug-free. I was completely wrong…there wasn’t many bugs, but there were a few updates that needed to be done, so I apologize for that. Don’t worry, all my future games will go though rigorous bug testing as they have been before.

-Yes, there is another company named Vertigo Games, and no, I’m not the creator of Blackshot or any wrestling games, just a fan of free bingo games. I got five emails this week about that (one from NBC wanting to use Blackshot in a show of theirs. I tried to convince them to use Nocturnal Emission instead, but no luck. Ah well.)

    I played through FFX again and just finished it yesterday. Almost had some man tears going on as well, but I wasn’t able to pull it off. I envy you, good sir.

    Sounds like things are rolling along pretty well for upcoming releases! You may want to double check in on the other Vertigo Games, since you’re both in the same field and if you both grow then at some point there will be copyright conflicts. Best thing you can do is register the name (if you haven’t) and then you should be set if they ever try to make you change it.

    I cried at the end of Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box. Twice. They did an amazing job ending the story and the voice work and music just came together in an extremely emotional way.

    There’s a Vertigo Games in Holland too, or do you mean that one? Problably not, it’s a small studio 😛

    @ JKR
    Yeah, I cried on Professor Layton. Not at the ending but all of the eyebrow ripping hard puzzles.

    And yeah, you might want to get your name registered. Or tell them to bugger off.

    I can’t wait for the oil blue!
    AND SOME PSP PORTS!! 😛
    (wonders if he says that in every comment there might be one) lol

  6. I *nearly* cried at the end of Half-Life 2: Episode 2.

    Now I just want to stone Gabe Newell until I can get Episode 3. Atleast just give us a screenshot. ANYTHING.
