Random Thoughts on Everything #1
Everything game related, that is.
-Why is the highest rated game for the competition neither ancient-themed nor original? Or that the engine itself was decompiled from Frozzed, which is highly illegal? How much do you want to bet that the game stays active for a few more days?
-Why has Mark Overmars not mentioned a thing about the new competition? There it is, on top of the GMC, announcing the…winter competition. Huh.
-Why do I want to get Ore no Ryomi 3 done this year, perhaps? Here’s one of, I’m sure, many reasons.
-KeyKnight no worky. I’ll post a blog entry later on what it was and all my drawings, but it’s gone baby gone. 🙁
-What a fantastic concept this game is. Makes me depressed that I didn’t think of it. Wow.
-I am addicted to pixel art and chiptunes. Oh how I wish I could do either to make a really neato game.
-Okay, I bought some classic WoW gold for the first time. I had enough. Playing as a Warlock I was desperate to get the epic class mount, but darn those 600 gold worth of materials drain the life out of me. Overall solid experience. I used the website Gold4Vanilla should anyone look for World of Warcraft: Classic gold or services.
-Should I post the pic of ONR3 that never came to be? Been thinking about this long and hard. I don’t want people to think it’s what the final game will look like, as it’s just a mockup really. No work is done on the game at the moment. But I think it’d be great to get some feedback. But feedback on a game that wont exist for another six months at least? Gah, dunno what I should do…
–I think I wrote a good UMD review here about two years ago. Notice how I stretch out the movie review due to the very little content there is on the UMD. I don’t write UMD reviews anymore, with the market going kablooey and all. (On another note, what the hell was I thinking with this review.)
-I hope I can write for IGN again someday. 🙁 I also wish the gaming journalism industry was a better one to get into, because it’s a lot of fun. Unfortunately the jobs are limited and the pay is poor. Not a good field to break into, but a great field to freelance for. 🙂
-Oh, and another amazing GM game that’s fun is this. Such amazing talent in the YoYo community…

That trailer is weird, but the part where he the fruit turns into the Wiimote is pretty cool. And why does the Wii and DS get all these crappy cooking/arcade style games? It sucks.
Chiptunes are great, the ones in Seiklus fit perfectly.
As for the game industry, feel glade that you live in America. You know how hard it is to get into any sort of multimedia down here? There’s 3 semi-major game companies who each employee about 50 people. Yes, just 3. And I’m not even going to start on things like film…trust me, it aint pleasant…
