greenTech RELEASED!

I’ve just submitted my second competition game ever, called greenTech. It’s now available to play on, and since they’re judging based on the game AND the number of plays it gets, please please please play this game. ๐Ÿ™‚

This game was an absolute blast to make. It was so liberating, not having to worry about particle effects, etc. It was just pure gameplay from the start to finish. What a fun thing that is.

The game actually started early last month, when a friend of mine suggested I try a tower defense like game. Sounded fun, so I tried it. It had the same graphical style of greenTech with some changes…you could build facilities, turn factories into green energy plants, etc. You just couldn’t control the wind or clouds. You also had to watch out for water pollution, etc.

The result was not fun. The game simply broke down to build-as-many-units-as-possible and do nothing while you wait for additional funds. I tried to think of different ways to do the tower defense game successfully using the style I had, but no luck. I was running out of time.

Finally, last week I gave up, and decided to try something original, but simple. I finally got the idea of greenTech last week, and in just a week’s time, was able to get the finished game out in time for the competition. It took about 60+ hours to do or so, which is just an insane amount of time to finish a game. But I’m really happy with the finished product. Woo!

Next week I plan to outline 2009 and update you on old projects and new ones. Until then, please play greenTech…I need the hits for the competition! ๐Ÿ™‚

First Comment! Yay! I’ll go play it now ๐Ÿ˜€

  2. Yay! But how the Hell do you go about completing the last level, it looks insane! Not that I’m up to that yet. ๐Ÿ˜›

  3. joe_042293 says:

    I just completed it.

‘Tis a difficult game. Stage 8, I think, was the hardest.

  4. chubigans says:

Ah, stage 8 is indeed a really difficult level. Should have been stage 16 instead, but ah well.

  5. calmelbourne says:

The game doesn’t work for me. Just keeps flashing between a white screen and the menu. The music also repeats itself like a broken record. The YoYoGames Player works fine with other games on the site. Any suggestions?

  6. chubigans says:

That is odd. My suggestion is to try to download the game via YoYo games, or wait for the release. Other than that, I’m really not sure. Sorry I can’t help further. ๐Ÿ™

    Playing now…
