Music not playing?

Is anyone else having a problem with the music?
All the sounds in the game work fine, but none of the music, including the vertigo games logo music plays for me.

Odd. The music is an external resource, isn't it? Well, maybe it's in the wrong folder.

That is odd. Check the main Spirits of Metropolis folder. Check to see if there is a text file called error_log, and let me know what it says inside.

I'm not chubby, but have you tried unzipping the folder?

Yup, that's consistent with either running the game via a zip file or having a download problem/error. I recommend unzipping the file, and if that doesnt work try redownloading.

I think I know what this is. It's the exact same problem I was having when I first played SoM in beta. The music needs to be in a folder inside the main folder, if it isn't then that's your problem. I think it's normally installed to a folder named "oggfiles" or "music" or something like that. Although as was already said, running it from a zip would cause that. It happened to me because I had the "create path folders" option turned off and it didn't create the "oggfiles" folder to put the music in, it just dumped it all in one folder.

I had a similar problem with GreenTech. I had to reinstall and update my audio drivers.
