Dead Space

Postby chubigans » Wed Dec 03, 2008 5:29 am

I dislike horror games...I really dislike Resident Evil 0-4, though the Suffering was pretty good. But Dead Space is really amazing. The story is Sunshine lite, yeah (a movie I despised) but the atmosphere is totally awesome. The game isn't all that scary, and Hard mode is challenging enough to not be frustrating...something I can't say for Resistance 2 (my big disappointment of the year). I'm halfway though but I want to savor the flavor. :-D

Anyone else Dead Spacin' it up?

I agree, I've never been a fan of horror games either. Though, last weekend I gave Left4Dead a shot and absolutely loved it. If Dead Space is anything like it in terms of quality and visual appeal, then it will be brilliant.

I don't suppose there's a demo out yet? Also, what platform are you Dead Spacin' on?

Why PS3 of course. And its a very slow paced shooter...kinda the complete opposite of L4D it seems.

I played a little, but then got distracted by school work...

I borrowed it off my uncle, as that seems to be how I'm getting most games now.

It is very good.

But it's very different to traditional horror games, like Resident Evil 0-3 and Silent Hill 1-3. And I like traditional horror games.

But I'm enjoying DS so far, yeah.

I Agree fully. FPSs Belong on the PC, and the mouse is FAR more precise than the joysticks.

That is why console FPSs will always be crippled. But some do manage to make up for the fact with several different aiming options. I mean, take TImeSplitters: Future Perfect. It was probably the best FPS of the last console generation (GC, PS2, XB), mostly because of the fact it ignored the epic story line and was designed with multiplayer in mind, even though it does have a great storyline. But it also had a well working joystick aiming system. It actually felt natural.

Actually I more meant I'd buy it on PC because I've got nothing else to buy it on.

Also, I really am liking my computer at the moment.

I also agree to THAT statement.

My other consoles include:
A GBA which randomly crashes a lot.
A Modded PSP, which I play GBA games on when i want to play GBA games, because my GBA is broken
A PS2.
