You didn't keep your images after uploading them?!

Tsk tsk. [-X

No, he kept them, but he's too lazy to re-upload them. Also, he sent them to Billy and me over Skype. I just reread it all and it was hillarious.

You can accuse me of many things, but not of being anything other than an obsessive-compulsive hanger-onto-er of old files: I have the PNGs and raw XCF files of every image, along with XCFs of Uncle Ted in various poses, and some unused images.

But yeah, there's 178 images so far, and I don't want to upload all of those without some kind of batch processor or something.

I may, in the future, if I get some free time, host GIMP myself somewhere where I can FTP upload the images. Maybe.

No, you're right, you're right, that's what we're talking about: the image upload service that we all used for quite a long time - Vulo Media - recently shut down, and so the forum is now peppered with broken images.

This topic held images of a sort of visual forum game, a choose-your-own-adventure type thing. It started as a simple stick figure affair, then metamorphosed half way through into a live-action, photoshopped (or GIMP'd as the case was) thing.

Like I said, I may very well upload it all somewhere and then continue it. If I do, I'll be sure to link to it within this topic. But I'd only do it if I could find a way to upload and display the images automatically (or semi-automatically at least) and the forum is unfortunately unable to do that.

By the way, why did you all use vulo media?

It was fast and convenient. You didn't have to worry about making a user, and it was basically an image and the upload box, so it loaded really fast, too.

Indeed, it was extremely fast and reliable, moreso than any other website, until it shut down.

Now we use imgur instead. Or at least, I do.

Now, that's cool: imgur will convert a raw GIMP image file - an XCF - and convert it to a PNG on-the-fly.

May have to give that a go.

Glancing over it, that does seem to be a great host... better than Frihost. Or, at least, less effort to maintain. :D

But I actually already have some webspace. Lots of it, in fact.

Gah, maybe I will upload it all. Need to write some Javascript or something. Or somebody else could, if they care enough?

The naming convention was 0001.png, 0002.png etc. with leading zeroes added to make it a four-digit number. Unless there was more than one photo in the post, in which case it was 0003a.png, 0003b.png etc. for however many photos there were.

I have all the images, I have somewhere to put them, but I don't want to have to manually create each individual image tag for the 200-odd images. Thanks for the offer, really, but I'm capable of doing something like this myself.

As for the layout... I don't know, I'm doing this for other people, not me. Would you all rather I did every image on one page, or one image per page, or what?

It's been almost a year since the last post in this topic...

I actually did end up reuploading all the images. You can find them here.
