Cook, Serve, Delicious! has achieved several milestones and even more additions since launch, and I wanted to share the news as well as give a glimpse of what’s to come in 2014!

I’m thrilled to announce that Cook, Serve, Delicious! has sold over 15,000 copies since its launch on Steam, with 24% of those sales coming from the November Steam Sale. Across all platforms and distribution services CSD has launched on (iPad, Android, Humble Store and other distribution sites), the game has sold over 28,000 copies! For a game that had a starting budget of about $8,500, that’s absolutely insane, and the best part is that they are coming the list of accessories that will be revealed, ones like the best VR headset for iPhone and other surprise features.

Thanks to the enormous success of the game, I’ll be able to fund my next project without the need for Kickstarter or any kind of crowd funding platform. It’s not going to be Cook, Serve, Delicious 2, but rather a new game in the strategy/simulation category. Production for the art has been going on since October, and I’ll be doing full time dev work on the new game starting in January. I’m so excited about it as I feel it has the potential to be the biggest game I’ve ever made specially if are playing with some small wireless earbuds to get in the zone, and the reveal will happen early next year via Steam Greenlight.

That’s not to say there’s still a few Delicious plans up my sleeve. Android/iPad versions of the game will be updated this month with new improvements on the engine side, decreasing the footprint and improving performance, as well as fixing some minor bugs. Cook, Serve, Delicious is also coming to iPhone 5 in January, possibly sooner depending on how long it takes to get through Apple certification! The Steam build of CSD has also been updated with brand new Steam Leaderboards support, with Steam Challenges that will refresh once a month for the next few months. For more info, read the Steam announcement here.

PS, the Steam Holiday Sale just started, and you can buy the game at 50% off until January 3rd!

I want to thank everyone who made the game such a big success, and here’s to our next major release in Spring 2014!

That’s great news. It’s nice that you won’t have to resort to Kickstarter for your next project. There are so many Kickstarters now and it’s hard to stand out. It’s a huge effort to run one and there’s no guarantee the goal will get met.

You know, I still think The Oil Blue has a shot of getting in to Steam through Greenlight eventually. It wouldn’t hurt to promote it a bit more, do some more bundle type deals etc. though. It’s a unique game. While there have started to be more job simulator games showing up on Steam lately (Wood Cutter Simulator just popped up the other day as a new release and no I am not joking) they tend to be uber realistic and dry. The Oil Blue still feels like a game and it’s fun.

Anyway just wanted to give a little encouragement for you to maybe push that game a little more. I think it’s worth it.

Looking forward to hearing more. Props for not falling into “well we probably have enough money… but stretch goals!” trend.

Does the game work on an iPhone 4 ?

  4. chubigans says:

It should work ok on an iPhone 4S, but it will not work on an iPhone 4 sadly. 🙁

  5. Mike says:

I heard part of your game’s soundtrack on a commercial for nomorerack.com! How is that possible?

    Thanks, chub!

  6. chubigans says:

Haha yeah I couldn’t afford the exclusive rights to the music, so it went on royalty free sites a few months after the game’s release. That won’t happen again with my next game. 😀

  7. kinok says:

Congratulations! I think you should poke humble bundle guys around a little. I still can’t see your game in they new store page. Good luck for new projects.

  8. Mike says:

Thanks for the reply! I must say that the song fit well for that commercial though! Haha.
