Just thought I’d give ya a sneak peek into the relaunch of vertigogaming.net!
The plan was to have it up by this week, but I’m afraid I’m going to have to push it back to next week as I’m still finalizing lots of the site. Garion did an amazing job, and I think you guys are really going to like it. Here’s some small screens:
I’m also replacing all of the zip files containing games with automatic un-zipping executables. Newer games will have the option of installers.
I just got the contract to get Spirits of Metropolis onto Direct2Drive, so I’ll be sending that off on Monday. Once it’s up I plan to release the first puzzle pack for Spirits of Metropolis, called Spring Meridian, containing a dozen puzzles of various difficulty. It’ll be free.
So, is there anything you’d like to see on the new site? Now’s the time for requests! And any ideas for a 404 page would be good as well.

Affiliates eh? I think that’s a good idea! I have some blank space to work with anyways.
I like it, it looks good.
Also, for a 404 page, you could make reference to how you are going to make the requested page, but you can never seem to meet the deadlines (Is disappointed for the lack of an appropriate smiley to put here)

Also, I think affiliates are an awesome idea.
You could have something like the greenTech computer crashed or something for a 404 page. Be sure to have a link to the forums (a non-redirecting link if possible)

ohh, great ideas for the 404 page at the moment I had:
* You are trying to HaX0r my site
* Your after the editables
* You haven’t been here in over 3 years and your bookmarks are incorrect
* Google’s trying to mess with your mind
* Or, You’ve been searching for Ore3 information (keep looking)
But those are even better.
And I did very little of the work. I came up with the original concept, but the way it looks today is all thanks to Chubs.

But yeah, the 404 page needs updating. I remember that design from way back in…2004, right? Something comical like Garion or dale’s idea would be very cool.
I vote for dale’s idea, even though this isn’t a democracy.

But I think there would be alittle problem in future extension that the bar containing the games picture in homepage looks static which means that if u released 3 or 4 games they wont find a place to be put so i think its better to make that bar flash so you can make it rotary with the user

There have been GM games entered into IGF and even went as far as to become finalists.
That being said, the amount of work that would have to be done is unreasonable for GM to handle, especially with all the graphics.
For the most part, games relying on advanced physics win the grand prize and because of the way that gm draws its triangles, that would be (nearly) impossible.
But you never know, if his next game is anything like the last then I agree, he should enter.
I missed the IGF deadline unfortunately. I fully intend to enter next year’s IGF.
