As I go with a friend to the midnight launch of Grand Theft Auto IV, I’m reminded why gaming is such a big part of my life…I love it, I play it, I want to work in the industry of it. And it’s just dang fun.

After getting home and playing for hours, I’m floored. Driving around the streets of Liberty City…just driving around…is incredible. The lights reflecting off the cars, the soft glow of the city away from me, the people walking around doing their own thing. Heck, I followed a guy as he answered his cell phone, chatted for a bit, and then got on the subway.

It’s the small details that blow me away…I never, ever thought we’d get a game so incredibly detailed in this generation, so real, so flawless in it’s execution.

And yet, I’m here in my last week of school before finals, and I’m going to have to put it away for a while. Gah.

So I only have two weeks of college left before graduating, and I can get back into the swing of things and work on Liquisity, etc. The GM Mag is coming very soon (no word on the release date, but “soon”) and if you haven’t already, swing by the YoYo Games Competition to see what entries are up this time around. The next competition theme is “co-operation” and I’m not sure if I could do anything like that…but, we’ll see.
